Quarantine: Week 19

We shook it up a bit this week! The kids spent time at Grandma and Grandpa's house! They've been looking forward to it for weeks.

Kasper went first. They did some fishing, some bike riding, played many games of Aggravation.

Marlo enjoyed being the only child at home. We also did some biking and (of course) played tennis.

Marlo and Kasper overlapped a couple days. They had smores and went to the zoo.

While they were gone, Rob and I visited our nieces, went out to eat and basically did whatever we wanted!

Then it was Marlo's turn to be alone with Grandma and Grandpa. They did less biking and MUCH MORE ART. Marlo had lots of artistic ideas.

Now they're both home and happy! It was so good for them to spend time with Grandparents. This summer has been full of disappointments and cancelled activities - it filled them up to do this. Thanks Mom and Dad!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Quarantine: Week 18

Another HOT week gone by! We sweated our way through this one. Yikes.

Poor Marlo is so overdue for her first haircut. We were supposed to cut it in March but, you know. Maybe in the next month I'll take both of us in.

Rob and the kids have been having a lot of fun playing disc golf these last couple weeks. Apparently they're pretty good at it!

Today was a PERFECT day after lots of hot, humid weather and some storms. We spent as much of it as we could outside.

Quarantine: Week 17

It was a hot week here! We're still living that "all of us at home all the time" life, and it's not that bad! The kids still love tennis. During lessons this week Rob and I went to the court right by the gym and chased the ball around ourselves for an hour.  At one point during a long rally, I tried to ask a long question about the merits of tennis shoes and Rob hit the ball right into my neck. Rude but whatever. Maybe I should have been quicker with my racket than my jaw-jackin.

Marlo and I went allllllll the way to St. Paul to visit a surgeon at the Children's Hospital. This little lady will be having hernia surgery sometime in the near future!  She's excited to feel "all better."

The kids had the best time playing in the rain last night.

We went to the high school this afternoon to set off the rocket and throw the frisbee around! It was a PERFECT day.

Quarantine: Week 16

This was the week of TENNIS! When camps and lessons started opening up in our area, we jumped on them. The kids NEED to be out doing things with other people. We started with tennis lessons and they absolutely loved them.

Being in MN right now is like living in a mouth. It's been so incredibly hot and humid and unpleasant. But we've gone out a few nights this week to chase a tennis ball around. It's less volleying and more walking and bending over and swinging at air but the kids love it and it's been fun to do.

It was Kasper's half birthday on Wednesday! He's 9.5 now!

Yesterday we spent the 4th with some friends at a lake! Another outing that was so good for the kids. And for us too!
