More concerts

Marlo had her first orchestra concert of the year and they sounded so good! There was some clowning around, of course.

 In other news, Marlo outgrew her old bike and needed a bigger size! The new bike is awesome and I think it'll last her for many years. 

   

 This holidays weekkend was a busy one for us, even though we didn't get many pictures. Kasper and Rob had an Ultimate Frisbee end of the season pool party. Kasper had a sleepover. Marlo slept over at her bestie's house. We met the bestie's family at a brewery for dinner mid-playdate and enjoyed some sunshine and woodfired pizza. We did some much needed cleaning and putting away in the house. We had a hailstorm that shredded all my hostas. Whew. Now we need a vacation.

Concerts and sports

We've come to the end of the school year that's filled with projects, concerts, field trips, and a million little things to remember 

Both kids had concerts this week. Kasper had band while Marlo had choir.

Then this weekend Kasper and Rob had the state Ultimate Frisbee tournament. Marlo and I went to watch today and they played so well! It's a fun sport and I'm happy Kasper likes it.

    

Whew. Another busy week ahead of us. Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Aurora

I don't know if I mentioned it but our road is all torn up at the moment. We're getting a new surface but before they do that, they're doing the gas lines, sewers, culverts, who even knows what else. It's going to be a mess until the end of July and boy is it a mess. 

 

One good thing is people can't drive fast on that road anymore. One bad thing is it'll be like a Formula 1 racetrack when it's done. 

 Rob and Kappy went for a bike ride out to Excelsior one evening. It was a beautiful week! 

   

Thursday was bike to school day! Apparently it was fun but a hot, hilly ride. Also a little dicey getting out of the neighborhood. 

   

Our weekend was jam packed. Of course the biggest news of the weekend was the Northern Lights on Friday night. I have to put the Northern Lights up there in my top 5 favorite things of all time. Kappy had a buddy sleepover Friday night and we dragged all the kids out of the house to look at them. They started in our area with purples and pinks. 

    

Then when we went out to the driveway a couple hours later they were mostly green but they were DANCING all overhead. It was so amazing to watch. 

   

Kasper played Ultimate most of Saturday and today, when it was 88 degrees. 

I had a great Mother's Day with my favorite pastries, a bluebird house, some car detailing by my favorite boy and lots of art projects by my favorite girl. It was a long, hot, late, sweaty weekend. We're tired.

Twins!

Follow up to my last post - Rob's car was dead dead. It was going to cost more to get it running than it was worth so we were on the hunt for something new. Stars (and dollars) aligned and Rob is now the new owner of an electric car. We have the wiring for a car charger but not the hardware yet - this week we should be all set. We didn't plan on getting a new car right now but here we are! 

 

Honestly that took up most of the week and he took possession on Friday. Thankfully, because we really need to be a 2 car family especially on weekends. Today while Rob and Kasper were at Ultimate games, Marlo and I (and Grandma ViV!) went to the Twins game! Marlo's choir sang the National Anthem before the game which was fun. It was really a perfect day so it was fun to spend it outside. Even if the Twins lost after a 12 game win streak. 

   

And that's all the news that's fit to print. Now we hang on to our butts for the last month of school.
