S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y Night!
A Saturday post! How unusual! I won't be able to post tomorrow so I thought I'd do the week so far. We were lucky MN is having a weird cold streak (think record lows) this week after a week of 90's. Turns out our air conditioner is totally broken and we have to replace it! Just add it to our growing list of expensive home repairs to make ASAP. The good thing about these repairs is hopefully we won't have to deal with them for years to come.
Monday started with a big parent meeting for daycare. It was at a park close to daycare and it was PACKED! Almost all the families went and the teachers were there too which was a surprise. It was so nice to see them again and the kids loved it. The meeting had to do with how we can help the teachers find new work and make ends meet until they can figure out more permanent options. It feels nice to be a part of such a wonderful community.
All of Kasper's teachers from the infant and toddler rooms were standing together. I'm going to miss seeing them every day.
Playing at the park. This one had a cool digger!
We made cards for each teacher. Kasper colored and I wrote a note and included a picture of K. I was especially impressed by this circle.
Who's that I spy?? I've been feeling baby for the last couple weeks and my how I've missed that. It's the one thing I really missed when Kasper was born - though I guess I had him to hug and kiss. There's just something so special about feeling your unborn baby in your belly.
I bought this space man mask on Amazon. It cracks me up.
In "I hope this is nothing" news, Lois wasn't feeling well this week. She kept down 2 meals from Monday until Thursday when I called the vet. They wanted her to come in immediately. Uh oh. The vet said if we hadn't told him she was vomiting so much he would've never guessed anything was wrong with her. He IV dripped a big bag of subcutaneous fluid into her back for digestion-free nourishment and hydration, and sent her home with an easy-to-digest diet for the next couple days. So far all that food is staying down but I'm nervous to give her her regular food in a couple days. You can see the fluid pooling under her armpit. It was kind of weird. I really hope this fixes it and she's fine. I don't like her to be sick.
I had a dentist appointment Friday. At my last appointment they told me to bring Kasper in for a "happy visit" before he has to start going when he turns 3. I brought Rob along as well for backup. Kasper was totally unsure and scared at first when she started working on my teeth but eventually warmed up and came in for a closer look. When the Dr. came in he got nervous again but she was AWESOME with him! She said she was going to count my teeth and asked him whether she should start with the top or bottom. He choose the top. When I was done she asked if she could count his teeth. He was very enthusiastic about getting on the chair and he choose the top for his teeth as well and then OPENED HIS MOUTH. I thought it was going to be a disaster but it went very well. He talked about those yellow sunglasses all the way to daycare.
Kasper, recycling truck and sea plane getting ready for bed after their bath.
Rob ran a race this morning so Kasper and I hung out, ate cereal and watched Thomas.
Look at these TV watching faces! He's enthralled.
We ran some errands today then Kasper took a 3 hour nap which he desperately needed because he was GRUMPY before lunch. He did perk up a little eating his Spaghettios with meatballs. (Rob picked lunch for the 2 of them)
I'm headed to St. Cloud for the rest of the weekend. We'll be out on the lake tomorrow so I hope we see the sun! Enjoy!

Family
What a week we had! Lots going on over here.
I snapped this picture Monday morning before Kasper woke up for school.
Some big changes happened at daycare this past week, and unfortunately Kasper's teachers are no longer working there. Monday was very sad. Kasper has taken the change way better than Rob and I have. If you ask who his teachers are, he'll name the new people. When you ask where his old teachers are he says "They're at home." Maybe he gets it a little bit? Anyway, there's a new normal there, but thankfully his new teachers are lovely and his old teachers are able to stop in and visit the kids so they'll get to say their goodbyes.
This was a HOT week in Minnesota. It was in the 90's most of the week. Rob was home early one evening so he set up the sprinkler in the front yard! What fun!
Silly Papa!
I was begging Kasper to come smile for me because he was just being so cute. After a long time I guess he took pity on me. He walked over and said "Cheese" with no heart behind it. But the camera loves him! What a precious boy.
We noticed the air conditioner couldn't keep up on Wednesday but assumed it was because it was just so hot out. When we got home Thursday, the house was 86 and humid. It was terrible! The air conditioner had completely given out. I can't imagine not having one when it's in the mid-90's outside. You can barely move! We actually ate outside on a 90 degree day when a shady deck was cooler than the 87 degree house. You can see how red Kasper's face is from the heat.
We can't get anyone to come out and look at it until the middle of this week but LUCKILY a cool front moved in Friday evening and it's been much cooler around here.
Kasper, Steph, Tim and I headed out early Saturday morning to Sioux Falls for our family picnic. Kasper did amazing in the car! He sat and chatted for the first couple hours and didn't really start getting grumpy until we were about a half hour away. We made some stops so we could get out and stretch our legs.
We rented a shelter at a park near my Grandma's and the family came for a BBQ. Kasper had fun playing with my cousins' kids and even remembers their names now that we're home!
Trying to get all the kids in a picture together. Spoiler alert - it happened for about 0.1 seconds.
This was Kasper's favorite toy by far. He pushed this thing about a mile during the day.
This was Steph's favorite toy. She rode it about 10 feet.
Kasper went non-stop for hours and when 7 pm rolled around he was done. He said he was sleepy and wanted to go to bed. So home we went! He got a bath in a tub I've been getting baths in for 33 years. I love those moments.
Kasper and I woke up before the rest of the house this morning and had a nice time playing outside. When my parents and Grandma got up, Kasper insisted on my Grandma running around the house with him. I think they went 5-6 times! He loved seeing Great Grandma. He can be shy with people he's not super familiar with so I'm happy he feels so comfortable here.
After one of Grandma's famous caramel roll breakfasts we headed back home with a quick stop to see Grandpa. I know he was enjoying the sunny morning.
Surprisingly Kasper did very well on his second 3+ hour car trip in about 24 hours. He was pretty sleepy by the time we got home so after a quick lunch he went down for an epic nap. He had a big weekend and was such a good boy. He was so happy to see his Papa and they had fun playing tonight.
Whew! Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Shortest post ever!
This will be my shortest blog post yet! We got home late from St. Cloud and I didn't really take any pictures this week anyway! Basically all of these are from my iPhone. It was a normal, non-eventful week for us. Not that we're complaining!
Like I said, it was a normal week. Thinking back, I can't even really remember what we did all week! On Friday we decided to go out to Punch for pizza. It was delicious and Kasper was such a good kid. He is so easy to bring out to eat.
We used to be so hesitant to bring him to restaurants because he would be too antsy by the time the food came then would eat a bite and want to get down. Now he's pretty good at entertaining himself then eating a nice meal and visiting with everyone.
We got home and flopped on our bed for some snuggles.
Side note - the front camera on my phone suuuuuucks. I think I need the iPhone 5. Don't you?
We got up yesterday morning and headed to St. Cloud, stopping for doughnuts on the way. I'm not exactly sure when Kasper's legs got to be a mile long.
Kasper burned off some energy running down the hill in my parents back yard. It's pretty steep and he got going really fast but he loved it!
Grandma and Grandpa took Kasper to the park today. My Dad marveled at how long Kasper can swing. It's an endurance sport for him.
We had dinner with Grandma Sandra and Dan before heading home. Rob has an appointment in St. Cloud tomorrow so he stayed behind. Kasper and I made it home around 8 so I dunked him right in the tub and got bedtime going. He said he was tired so we made it a short bath.
See! I told you it's one of my shortest posts yet. Kasper is sleeping soundly but I still have a bunch of things to do to get ready for tomorrow. I'll try to get out the camera this week. It's more fun that way!
Hope everyone had a great weekend!
