Celebration szn

It's celebration season over here! 

First I got a couple pictures of the girls on our Mom/daughter date to the theater. 

This week was pretty quiet except for Kasper coming down with a gnarly case of strep. He laid in bed for 2 days which I don't think he's even done in his life. Thankfully after starting antibiotics Thursday morning he was feeling well enough to go to school Friday. 

Friday evening we had a family birthday party for the kids. 

Marlo was up bright and early doing a paint by number she received.

   

 Today Marlo celebratied with her little besties!

   

Not the best lighting but the projects turned out so cute!

   

Whew! Now we have a couple days to recover before more celebrating. Hope everyone had a great weekend!

December

We had a chill week! 

Marlo fell on her wrist in gym a coupe weeks ago and it's still bothering her so I took her in to the Dr. They took x-rays and saw there was no break so she got a splint and has to wait until it gets better. 

She had fun getting the x-ray. 

We stopped at the General Store in Minnetonka on the way home. If you've never been there over the holidays, it's incredible. 

Marlo and I went to a play at the high school with Marlo's bestie and her Mom and went out for lunch before hand! We saw the Sound of Music and it was INCREDIBLE. I didn't take any pictures but I'm going to try to get some because the girls were so cute. 

Marlo got an early Christmas present - a tree in her room! Just what she wanted!

 

 Today we went to my parents house for a little Christmas celebration! 'Tis the season!

Tis the season!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! We sure did! And did some Black Friday shopping and an escape room. Usual holiday weekend things. 

We also went to cut down our tree yesterday! It was cold and just the slightest bit snowy! 

 

We did eventualy get it cut down. We spent the rest of the weekend decorating for Christmas! The house is so magical all lit up.

Papered

We had a regular week then this weekend we completed a little house project!

We had our 1 year walk through checklist items mostly completed in the last few weeks which meant we were cleared for wallpapering! Our builder *strongly* recommended we wait for a year so anything that needed to be fixed wouldn't be covered in wallpaper. 

My Mom and I took on the master bathroom this weekend. It was quite the job! We had a few challenges but mostly it was pretty smooth sailing and we LOVE the end result. It made our bathroom completely different. 

All set back up! We had initially thought we'd have more gold in the bathroom but it ended up just being on the light fixtures so the gold in the paper really brings everything together. We love it so much. 

 

It's a short week this week then Thanksgiving! Where does the time go??

Lazy fall

We're in the sweet spot of fall. Activities are winding down, there are stretches of warm days and the shit show that is the holidays hasn't started yet. Marlo is learning how to play the violin. She learned Baby Shark.

This weekend was a little busy with play practice for Marlo, play dates for both kids, sleepover for Kappy.  

I was really into the book I was reading all weekend and Marlo told me she was envious I could sit there and read for so long. She tried it a handful of times.

 

It was almost 60 degrees today so we got some good yard cleanup work done! We have way less living in the woods than we did in the city which is AWESOME.

Halloween 2023

 It was Halloween this week! The kids LOVE Halloween, but what kid doesn't. Marlo went as Hermione turned into a cat with Polyjuice Potion. 

We carved pumpkins at the 11th hour.

     

We finished the pumpkins and put them ourside about 20 minutes before it snowed for the first time this year.

   

We woke up Halloween morning to more snow than we expected!

 

Marlo had her parade at school and thankfully the sun was nice and warm. 

 

We added a nose for trick or treating.

 

The kids spent the rest of the week eating candy.

   

Yesterday was Kasper's last Ultimate frisbee game of the fall season! It was a beautiful day!

   

And finally, I drove by our old house today as I was passing by and it is looking pretty different! It's getting a new roof and it looks like maybe a new entry way or patio? I can't wait to see what they do to it!
