12 weeks

12 weeks. Before the daycare snafu, I would be going back to work next week. I am so thankful to have another 4 weeks with Kasper.

Remember last weekend when I thought his 12 week wonder week was over? It wasn't and I'm not sure it's completely gone now. Kasper was fussy for a good part of the beginning of the week and his sleep really suffered. Both at night and for naps. We were up 3-4 times per night and he was only taking 45 minute naps - called the 45 Minute Intruder sometimes. It was so annoying that he would sleep for 45 minutes then wake up. For the first couple naps, I didn't realize that he was waking up after a sleep cycle. When I found out he was sleeping exactly 45 minutes every time, I consulted my friend Google. Around Wednesday or Thursday, I just left Kasper in his bed when he stirred. Lo and behold, he put himself back to sleep after 30 minutes of laying awake and slept another 1.5 hours peacefully. He did that a few more times, so I think I have to give him some time when he wakes up to try to put himself back to sleep. Other than the sleep battles, we had a great week! Kasper continues to learn new things every day. It's funny that he has to learn all the things we all take for granted like lifting our arms and talking.

We met with Grandpa Steve and Carol last Sunday. I realized I hadn't put a recent picture up with Kasper and his Grandpa, so here it is! He was a little fussy, but I know he enjoyed seeing Grandpa.

We spent the rest of last weekend hanging out as a family...

(Side note, I didn't like the yellow light in those pictures, so I turned off the light and bumped up the exposure compensation to +0.7)

Much better, huh?

We spent lots of time on the playmat this week. He has really gotten the hang of it and loves to look at and talk to the animals.

Papa hanging out with the kids

Here are Rob and Kasper having a conversation one night. At one point, Rob scares Kasper with a fart noise.

Turns out one of my new favorite things to do is put Kasper in bear suits or monkey hats and take pictures of him. Hello?

After one of his baths, I was getting him all lotioned up when he decided that my hand might be a snack

It was so funny!

Now for the obligatory weekly gratuitious photoshoot!

I photoshopped these with the seventies and boost actions from the Pioneer Woman. I thought they needed some touching up because the original background was a little blue.

Some obligatory chatting videos.

And one with the hiccups

What else? Oh yeah! Kasper has started to notice his feet and is starting to rollover! He found his feet in the bath this week but isn't able to grab them quite yet. Soon, I think! He also started to roll from his side to his back. He figured out he had to tuck his knees up under him to get himself over, so I don't think it'll be long before he rolls over from his stomach!

We're back up in St. Cloud this weekend (surprise, surprise). My Grandma Meier is in town visiting Kasper - who is named after my Grandpa Meier! They're hitting it off wonderfully!

Ok! This post is long enough!

12 weeks - The play mat is fun, the monkey hat is not. Finding your feet is fun, naps are not. It's a world of contradictions when you're a baby.
