Kids in Lincoln

Two days after we moved to the apartment my Grandma came to visit! Thankfully it was a nice day outside because we still weren't quite ready to host indoors yet.

We took her to the lot! We hadn't been there for a few weeks and were delightfully surprised to see how green and alive it is in the summer! 

 

The next day Grandma Sandra and Auntie Phyllis picked up the kids to take them to Lincoln for a week! Rob and I were sorry to miss it but we had too much to do back home to be able to leave. 

 

Found out Kasper loves waterskiing and grilling burgers but is allergic to cats.

Kiki and Drew! Rob's cousin's Tom's daughters. They live in TX so we don't get to see them much.

The guys took Kasper under their wings and he was driving the boat, cooking the burgers, waterskiing. He was in heaven.

While they were gone, we unpacked the apartment, had a couple meetings with the builder, ate spicy dinners and went for long walks after 8 pm. We also hung out with some of our high school friends one afternoon. Somehow a potato gun from the 90's made an appearance and it still worked! So we had our kids fire it off (with help from parents) while Rob went out on a paddle board and tried to catch the potato.  Got it!

The week since was slowly getting back to "normal" with camps and work! I can't believe it's almost August already!

Big move #1

 WE DID IT. We moved out of the house we've lived in for the last (almost exactly) 10 years. It's been awhile so I'll have to split this into a couple posts because to be honest we're still tired. 

Now I have to remember back a week and a half ago. It seems like a lifetime ago. We picked up the keys to our new apartment on July 3. Marlo and I ran over to get them at check out the new pad. 

We lit a couple sparklers we had for the 4th of July in our driveway. 

The movers came July 6. They were with us for 6 hours - they packed up our house, dropped one truck at our storage unit and dropped the second at our apartment. It was 4 college age guys and they were so funny. I got a kick out of them. 

On July 7 my parents and Rob's Mom came down and helped with the final push. I thought we got most out with the movers but I think I was wrong?? We all worked extremely hard for about 12 hours. I texted my sister this picture at 9:30 pm that night saying basically "this is all that's left!" 

I was bringing loads over to the apartment until 3:30 am before trying to get a little sleep. Rob didn't sleep that night. It was a misleading amount of little things.

The kids slept in the house and we all ended up there in the morning. It was sad to pack everything into the car one last time. 

We love this picture from when we moved in and had to recreate it. Including the newest member that didn't move with us 10 years ago! And missing the puppy that did. 

 

 The walkthrough was scheduled for 10 but we were out by 9 to get the kids to camp! 

We then had to go home to the apartment and deal with it. Thankfully my sister came over and encouraged me to get the kids room set up so they'd have somewhere to land. 

Kids room was good but the rest of the place looked like this for awhile. 

We DID NOT want to deal with more boxes or stuff. Especially since this isn't even where we're ending up and we have to do it again in 11 months. 

Ok! That's a good place to stop! It's such a relief to have our house sold and to be able to look towards the next step.
