Yellow!
Oh my friends. What a week. I don't get political but my stomach is tied up in knots over what is happening in this country this week. Blah.
Marlo Marlo Marlo. 3 going on 13. Her teacher does her hair in all kinds of ways and I love it.

Snapchat is our new favorite.

Apparently they change the filters every day or something? Another night we found new ones.

Bedtime stories are pretty cute lately.

Friday was a big day for Kasper - his first belt test day! We had no idea what to expect and it's pretty intense! There were no classes so all the kids there were to test for yellow, yellow with green stripe or green belts. Higher belts tested later in the evening. Some of the kids were practicing before the test time of 5:15 but Kasper pranced around the mat until Master Lee stopped him and went through his formations with him. Classic Kasper.

There were 3 kids testing for their yellow belt. That's Master Moon sitting at the judging table. A different atmosphere than a week ago when we were having a birthday party with all the teachers! There was also a visiting Master at the table who you can't see in this picture - a younger guy from New York who studied under Master Moon when he taught out there.

These crack me up because Kasper has no idea what's happening. He just showed up and did what was asked!

He did it!

You've gotta check out this video of the visiting Master Dennis doing something totally sweet and guaranteeing interest in tae kwon do for the kids in this room for a long time.

So proud!

She's been practicing her Anna smile.

Kasper and Rob met some friends from the bus stop to go ice fishing! There are a handful of kids at the bus stop and Rob happened to make friends with one of the Dads. If you know Rob, this is not at all surprising. The little girl is Iris and she is also in kindergarten at Kasper's school. They aren't in the same class, but they are in the after school program together and are often sitting together when I pick Kasper up! Iris' Dad is a big fisherman and has all the toys. I think they were pretty comfortable. Well, for the first part of the morning anyway...

Kasper fell one legged into an ice hole and had to wear Rob's mitten on his foot the rest of the time. With no snow pants on.

Cool kids

We got outside today which felt good.

Bedtime

I hope everyone had a great week - let's hope for a more peaceful, inclusive week to come.
