Spring days

It's warming up around here, the grass is getting green, tulips are blooming. I've always thought fall was my favorite season in MN but Spring is right up there. There's a lot of hope and promise in a MN Spring and we'll take all we can get!

This week was pretty average for April though: cool, overcast and rainy -- even some snow. All things considered it was pretty average for us too.  The sun finally came out yesterday so we spent a lot of the day at a park where we could all do what we wanted. I walked a couple miles, the kids played on a playground and Rob threw a bunch of frisbees at a disc golf basket.

We all found some money at the park. Some more than others.

IMG_3449 Today was another beautiful day! The kids and I went for a long bike/walk and it was just gorgeous outside! Marlo of course rode most of the way with a stick in her hand. She tried to add a larger stick at one point but couldn't control her bike.

Spring fun

This week was completely unremarkable with the exception of Rob and me getting our first covid vaccine! We had to go about 30 miles away but worth it. What a relief to have started the process.

Kasper got to go to a birthday party this weekend! They rented out a theater and watched Tom and Jerry!

Since Kasper got to do something fun, Rob took Marlo up to visit Grandma Sandra while he played in a disc golf tournament. It sounds like it was an exhausting visit.

And that's it from here! Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Spring Break!

We were supposed to be in Palm Springs for Spring Break this week but alas we were not. We miss it so much and hope we can get back there next year.

We wanted to at least do something for Spring Break and when we talked to some friends a couple months ago, it sounded like others were feeling the same. So we all decided to go up to Lutsen for a long weekend and do some skiing!

We headed up Thursday morning stopping in Duluth for lunch. Kasper ordered the ribs.

We made it up around dinner time. We met up with the other families and sat in the hot tub then the kids ran wild for hours. They crashed every night.

There was a lot of snow on the ski runs but not much otherwise! I am not a seasoned skier by any means, but even I could tell a difference between winter skiing and spring skiing. It was kind of nice it was melty because it slowed the kids down a bit. We found ourselves on a family black diamond at one point and made it down no problem! Even Marlo!

Rob brought costumes.

IMG_3161 IMG_3163 IMG_3181On day 2, Marlo was kind of done. We did a TON of skiing the first day and that was about as much as she could handle. She was a trooper though.

IMG_4654 IMG_4657 IMG_3167 IMG_4661 IMG_4663 IMG_3173 IMG_3174 We came back to our condo for lunch which was a nice break.

It was almost 70 and sunny yesterday!

IMG_4668 These kids were such a delight. They all played so well together! They were pretty much self sustainable the whole weekend.

IMG_3178 The Easter Bunny found us at Lutsen this morning! Rob and Kasper did a couple last runs before we headed home around 11am!

IMG_3183We had such a fun weekend! Hope everyone had a great weekend and a Happy Easter as well!
