Happy Memorial Day!
Holy cow, this week flew by. I say that every week but this time I mean it. It flew by but last weekend seems so long ago. We started the week cold and wet. They are doing road construction by our house so we are lucky enough to have a construction sign in our yard. Kasper thinks it's pretty lucky anyway.

Silly sleeping Kasper. He needs a ton of "buddies" in his bed before he'll go to sleep. Lately Muno is a favorite. Look at him cradling the guy.

By Friday the weather had completely turned around and it was BEAUTIFUL. We lucked out the whole weekend, actually. We left around noon to head up to St. Cloud. We wanted to beat traffic but ended up right in the middle of it and our 45 min drive stretched out to 2 hours. We were severely running out of fun by the time we pulled in. Rob did a race Saturday and had to pick up his packet Friday night. There was a kids duathlon for 6 year olds and up and a fun run for kids under 6. So.much.fun. There was no sign up or anything, you just went down to a fire truck in the parking lot.

The 6 year olds went first then 5, 4, etc. The fire truck blew its horn to start the race and it's a good thing Kasper wasn't in the first wave, he wouldn't have stuck around. This way he heard the horn 3 times before it was his turn.

Kasper took off like a shot.

He led the whole race but when he saw Rob over here he ran up on the grass to hang out.

Kasper was still leading at the end but stopped and looked around for other kids. That Dad and his son over on the left blew by him and the Dad ended up winning the race. Maybe next time, Kasper. You definitely tried your hardest and we are so proud of you! That Dad was just faster. Bozo.

He did such an awesome job!

I cropped out an unflattering angle of a stranger because I love Kasper here. 100% boy from the bandaid right down to the shin bruises.

Rob found this picture on the Facebook page. That Dad was running at the beginning! Fun picture.

Playing with Mugs before dinner.

Saturday morning Kasper and I met Grandma Sandra at Rob's race.

He did great! I don't have many good pictures because my camera was switched to a different mode than I normally use and I didn't check first. Also, sometime between dinner Friday and Saturday morning, the inside of my camera got a bunch of crap in it which are the black dots you see. I'm blaming Kasper. Anyway, Rob beat the time he had in his head to beat and ended up only 30 seconds slower than last year! He took second in his age group.

Before dinner Saturday, Rob brought out the new big boy bike he bought this week! Kasper LOVES it but is still getting the hang of the pedals.

We even got up early to show Grandma Viv the bike Sunday morning. He got pretty frustrated because he would accidentally pedal backward and slam on the breaks. It'll be a bit of time before he keeps moving forward. When he quit riding for the morning, he declared that bike had "too many stops in it." Like it was the bike stopping him.

After breakfast we showed Grandma Sandra, and the riding came far easier -- he's starting to get it!

When Kasper woke up from his nap, his face was red and puffy. Soon the rash started to move down his arms. Darn heat rash. He played SO HARD all weekend and had such a great time.
This morning Rob decided to shave off his hair in an effort to allow him to stay a little cooler with his bike helmet on.

My boy!

So photogenic. You can see the heat rash spreading. It still spread today down his body and legs

We spent our Memorial day morning running errands! We wanted to keep Kasper out of the sun and heat - it's 81 and humid today. We went to the camera store so they could clean off my sensor and to a nursery to buy some new plants. We also watched some movies just to be inside. Sigh. We were so excited it was finally nice out so we could spend so much time outside! Hopefully he'll be feeling better soon. Rob spent most of the afternoon catching up on weeks of yard work. We watched.

Before dinner, when the sun wasn't so intense, we set up a sprinkler for the guy.

We rounded out the evening with a BBQ and a bonfire. We always have tons of sticks to burn so we made a dent in the pile while taking the opportunity to have dessert.

What a fun weekend we had! Now we get ready to sweat out the week. Looks like we are in need of a new furnace. Gotta love a Money Pit. Hope everyone had a great holiday!
