Happy Thanksgiving!

With so many days off work, I'm having a hard time remembering the beginning of the week!

Mondays are pj day at daycare. Love pj day. Every morning (pj day and otherwise) Kasper waves at me from the window as I head to work. Marlo joined him on Monday. She's so little!

This picture KILLS me. Can you get any cuter? Look at her on her little tiptoes. As I drove by I saw Kasper waving and a forehead.

The car track played pretty prominently in our week. I think Rob has the most fun with it.

This is so our life. One kid on the kitchen table in underwear, another on the floor with one sock on. Huge mess everywhere. And honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way. We have so much fun together that the mess is sort of inevitable. I can clean when they're older. Right??

I did some cooking for Thanksgiving throughout the week, including my first pecan pie! I used my Grandma's recipe and it was amazing. If I do say so myself.

Thursday morning we got up and out the door by 7:30 for the Turkey Trot! We did the one in Minnetonka this year instead of going downtown which was awesome since it's about 4 miles from home. Kasper had been talking for days about the race and was so excited all morning. We parked and had to walk kind of a long ways to the dome where Kasper's race was. The temperature was -4 degrees. MINUS FOUR. The kids were basically frozen. We got there and got all lined up just in time for his age group to run. Rob was getting his packet so I got him to the line and walked a bit down the line to watch. I'll spare you the videos but the gun went off, the kids ran, Kasper stayed on the start line. Oh dear. The next age group lines up, the gun goes off, the kids ran, Kasper stayed on the start line. Now I have to hustle back to the start to tell him he's going to have to run. The poor kid is standing there with purple lips quietly freaking out. I told him he had to run with the next group. I would estimate they were 7-8 year olds. You can hear me giggling

Rob got a video from the finish.

There are a number of things that make me giggle about this video.
1. You can hear Marlo freaking out in the background. I'm surprised it's not louder.
2. Kasper totally slows down and acts nonchalant when the turkey passes. I assume so the turkey wouldn't look at him.
3. He's trying not to cry at the finish.
4. I know he's going to be upset to be at the finish and not see his parents so I'm hustling to get him. You see me running along the sidelines before I step in and rescue him.

Rob's race started about 20 minutes later but we didn't stick around. It was a really long, cold trip to have Kasper NOT at all be into in. Oh well.

Here he is post-race warming up in front of the heater with Lois.

When he watched Rob's video later in the day he would mumble "I'm last" every time he got to the end. I can't tell if that bothered him.

Marlo came in low and hot after the race and went down for a loooong morning nap. When she woke up, we packed up and headed over to Steph and Tim's for Thanksgiving. Isn't this a nice picture I got of the kids?

The kids were actually really good. They had a nice time playing and both went down for naps without any coaxing. The food was delicious, of course. Thanksgiving is delicious. Marlo didn't make it to dinner because she needed another nap so she ate when she woke up.

We headed right up to St. Cloud Thursday night. After the kids went to bed, Rob, Steph and I went to Target and found some goodies. Friday morning I made the Pioneer Woman's cinnamon rolls. They were DELICIOUS and I was proud of myself for tackling a yeast dough!

After breakfast my Mom, Steph and I headed out to do some Black Friday shopping.

Black Friday selfie! We didn't go to many stores and didn't even venture out to the mall. We for sure knocked out some Christmas shopping, though.

I don't think either kid wore actual clothes while we were in St. Cloud. Oops. But look how cute this one is.

This little lady is proving to be quite the sleeper. She goes to bed around 7:30 and while in St. Cloud she woke up at 8:45 one morning and 8 the next. She loves to sleep.

Marlo slept fine Friday night (woke up at 8) but she was OFF all day Saturday. She wanted to be sleeping but wouldn't fall asleep or stay asleep. She didn't want to eat. She only wanted me to hold her. She was off. Her teeth made some progress so I think that's what it was.

That poor girl. I felt so bad for her. We headed back home after nap and thankfully she did awesome on the ride. It was over when we got home, though. She went down for a nap basically as soon as we walked in the door but that only lasted about 45 minutes. She screamed through dinner and didn't want anything I tried to offer her for comfort. Eventually I got her to calm down and lay on my shoulder.

I covered her with the only thing I could find. We don't usually use sheepskins as blankets. Doesn't she just look miserable!?

I gave her some ibuprofen and after some restless sleep at the beginning of the evening we didn't hear from her until after 8 am this morning. Kasper was, of course, waltzing into our room at 6:40 saying "wake up, sleepyheads!" Kasper and Rob spent a lot of the morning outside playing and hanging Christmas lights.

After they were done we spent the afternoon and evening watching the Vikings win and playing in the sunroom.

Marlo had her moments but today was so much better than yesterday. I just want those teeth to break through for her. Her lower left is the closest to breaking through. There is a hole in her gums and I swear I can see the tooth. I can't remember how long it takes for the tooth to actually grow into her mouth.

Here she is, all dressed up!

We ran out of lights on the far side of the house but this will do for this year. We love it!

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and weekend!
