Happy Halloween!

 The house started to take shape this week! After the footings cured, they started on the foundation supports. 

The kids got to have their Halloween parade at school. It was a beautiful day and Rob got to go and watch. 

Friday they poured the concrete!

We brought the kids to check it out yesterday.

Kasper and his friend dressed up as Limu Emu and Doug from the Liberty Mutual commercial. 

Tonight we went trick or treating with our friends in the neighborhood we always hit up. We didn't get to go last year so it was great to be back!

Digging autumn

As people who have never built a house before, we're really marveling at how fast things are happening! It was only a week and a half ago that the first hole was dug. 

I hope the colors are this beautiful every year!

 

The kids' conferences were Friday so afterward, Rob and I treated ourselves to a day off enjoying the sun. Of course that meant he disc golfed and I walked then we went to the lot! 

 

It was a beautiful weekend! We tried to spend as much time as we could outside. We even had cinnamon rolls and chocolate cookies for lunch yesterday.

 

We took the kids to the lot and there was a guy measuring out walls! Then we took a walk on our new local trail. Marlo of course found a bunch of "super cute" sticks she couldn't part with.

 

We also did some relaxing at home. This is what the kids room looks like after a little relaxing. It makes my eyes twitch.

Big Dig

We start the week with swimming lessons! Marlo goes first then 40 minutes later Kasper goes. I pack them  sandwiches to eat in-between and the weather has been so nice lately we've been eating al fresco in the parking lot! 

The big news for us this week was that our house project finally started! They started Wednesday morning. 

That's the garage he's edging in. Thursday they brought in 18(?!) truckloads of dirt to raise the level of the driveway and the ground floor. 

By Friday they basically had the whole house dug out/raised. 

Rob's standing in the walkout basement and you can see the slope from left to right from main floor level to basement. Sliding doors will be out of the photo on the right.

So exciting! The kids went up to stay with their Grandma for the weekend. As usual they had a ton of fun.
