Critics' Corner

The Editors of Keller Williams Reality welcome to the Critics' Corner Special Guest Critic guitarist Lil' Wayne
.

The Rapture is Holding on Line 1: A Critical Review of Franz Ferdinand's TONIGHT

By Lil' Wayne.

The telephone rings in a richly furnished office in a tall building. A severe yet fey man with high cheekbones and an impressive coiffure takes the expensive-looking handset from the expensive-looking cradle on his retro-looking phone atop his Naugahyde-looking desk. It's his Receptionist.

Receptionist: Mr. Ferdinand, The Rapture is holding on line 1. They want to know what you did with that CD of their B-sides they lent you to burn.

Franz Ferdinand: Oh, I took out the yelping, the interesting parts, and the cowbell and released it as my new record. It's on Domino Records and it's called "Tonight."

R: Okay I'll tell them. Hold on.

FF: Okay, and ask them if they have any more songs.

The Receptionist clicks back to The Rapture on line 1 and "Dark of the Matinee" crackles into the handset as Franz Ferdinand holds. Franz scoffs. The Receptionist clicks back in.

R: Mr. Ferdinand? They farted and hung up.

FF: Hmmm. Did you record the call?

R: Yes.

FF: So you got the fart?

R: Yes.

FF: Okay cool. I've got an album to make.

2008, I hardly knew you. May you rest in pieces.

The financial crisis has taken a toll on us all, but perhaps none more so than this blog. Unfortunately, 100% of Keller Williams Reality's Ingenuity Fund was invested with Wall Street muckety-muck B.M. (I can't stand to see his name in print and find solace in equating him with a bowel movement). That turd told us that all of this blog's clever ideas would bundled with the clever (and lame) ideas from other blogs, and sold as securities on the open market. The Ponzi-fied rest is history. Let's just say he "Madoff" with all of our best stuff.

So, we turn the page on 2008 and stare blinkingly upon the unwritten text of 2009. Here's to hoping it's legible!

Happy New Year, Earth.
