Feels almost like summer!?
Whew.
How was the week?? We survived! Marlo had a difficult week, which was too bad. She was so needy and fussy. It didn't help that she's been sick with a deep junky cough for over a week now. I finally took her in Tuesday because it had been a week and she wasn't getting better. Apparently it's a cold that's been going around and the cough can last 3 weeks! Ugh! This was our evening more often than not.

Monday, I started physical therapy! Ever since Marlo was born my left wrist has been very painful. I finally went in and it's something called Mommy's Thumb if you can believe it. I didn't have it with Kasper and I think it was because with Marlo, my IV in the hospital was in that wrist which irritated the area and it never got better because then I had a baby to lug around. It was mostly a nuisance until I went back to work. I actually do a lot with my left hand opening tubes and flasks and whatnot. I have a big splint that I have to wear all day and all night and it's a huge pain in the butt but the good news is it should get better with PT.
Friday was National Doughnut Day! We celebrated and went out for doughnuts before work. Yum!

Friday evening we decided to go out for pizza! We did well and made it through the whole meal, basically, before Marlo wanted to go HOME. She was in a better mood once we got back and even decided to give sitting a go! That was not my idea. I'm so not ready for her to grow up.

Saturday I headed over to my Aunt's house for a bridal shower for Steph. It was so much fun and I loved seeing so much family. While I was at the shower, this is what Rob had the kids doing. Ha!

After the shower, Rob brought the kids over to see their Great Grandparents.

It was Marlo's first time meeting her middle namesake!

The splint!

Four generations

Oh kids.

We made it home just in time to see California Chrome miss the Triple Crown, bummer. The kids did a great job talking to all of the adults and after a bit, Marlo let other people hold her! Progress! I learned that I was the same way as a kid. My Aunt Julie told a story about how I wouldn't let anyone hold me and sometimes, if you were lucky enough, I would sit on you lap. But you couldn't talk to me or touch me. That is so hilarious. I am not at all surprised and honestly haven't changed much. More evidence Marlo is going to be a little Jessica.
Marlo has been sleeping great and didn't wake up at all overnight this weekend. We ended up in our bed in the morning.

It was such a beautiful day we decided to get up, eat some waffles and high tail it over to the Landscape Arboretum to take advantage of the weather. It was really a perfect morning. Mid-70's, no wind, no bugs, not humid, not a cloud in the sky. Amazing.

It wouldn't be a trip to the Arboretum without many lady slipper pictures! I just love them!

I also LOVE peonies. The peony area is going to be amazing in the next coupe weeks -- it's juuuuust starting.

There was also a cool exhibit of glasswork sprinkled around the gardens. They were amazing!

We stopped by a BBQ one of Rob's co-workers was having at a local lake. Kasper really wanted to stay and play at the beach but both kids needed a nap so we headed home with excitement to head to a beach after they woke up. Well, by the time they woke up, 2 hours later, it was totally overcast and almost chilly. Off to the beach we went anyway.

Haha!

So on the coldest trip to a beach ever, Kasper totally jumps into the water. He NEVER gets into the water.
Then when it was time to go, he decided he was a sea turtle coming ashore to lay eggs.

Homeboy drug himself up the beach. You can see the trail behind him. Where does he come up with this stuff??

So, we had a very busy weekend! I'm so glad we got to be outside as much as we could to enjoy the perfect day. Lastly, I have to include this. Peonies from my yard. The first ones to bloom. I wait ALL YEAR for this.
