Heat wave
Holy buckets summer flies by. In Minnesota, we also hit summer HARD because it's so short.
Kappy got to ride his bike to school! He was thrilled.

We try to get outside as much as we possibly can. I don't know if I've explicitly mentioned it but Marlo is mostly over her fear of going outside. She still gets scared if a loud car drives by but she plays outside. Thankfully that fear was short lived. Kasper is usually found having screen time on the iPad before dinner. After a day full of structure, I can't fault the guy for wanting some downtime -- he usually chooses Angry Birds or a monster truck game. The flip side is we barely see him!

I think she was drawing Minnie Mouse.

Her summer wardrobe is adorable.

Hawaiian Day! That shirt on Marlo was Kasper's from when he went to Hawaii. I love that shirt.

Marlo insisted on putting on her own sunscreen before t-ball. "MY DOYIT!!!!!!!" ("My do it")

It was very warm this week. Marlo was a sweaty mess playing on the playground while Kasper played t-ball. She has no fear.

Attentive spectator? Um no.

We decided to eat in Excelsior instead of going home so we walked across the street to a place we've never tried. As soon as we got in we saw Kasper's best friend from daycare who is also in t-ball with him! We ended up all sharing a table and the boys had the best time.

It was in the 90's Friday and yesterday. My parents wrote in the morning saying they were going to stop by on their way to my sister's house. We were thinking of going to the beach but figured a pool in the front yard would be just as great! Kasper and Papa got in a quick bike ride before they got there while Marlo and I sat on the front steps and waited. We were both trying out our new one-pieces. Kidding. (Or am I!?)

Man she's cute.

Grandma's here!

We did a little swimming, a little t-ball. Grandpa pitched some balls to Kasper and he did a great job hitting!

Then became a little bit of a broken ladder.

Marlo also ate almost an entire bag of chips.

Mom and Dad went to Steph and Tim's for lunch while we ate here. Marlo was really needing to hug her brother through the entire lunch.

Everyone came over for dinner, drinks and ice cream sandwiches. After being an oven most of the day, it was an amazing evening!
Rob left early this morning for a golf event. The kids and I had pancakes then went for a walk/bike.

We got home, put on suits and ran back out the door to meet buddies Jack and Eva at the playground/splash pad/lake! Anna suggested it as our husbands were golfing together. It was perfect! The boys had a fun time. As did the husbands, or so we hear.

Marlo was exhausted and went straight to bed. I thought Kasper would sleep but he didn't. I mowed while they slept and decided today was the day I'd pull out random tall weeds I found in the back landscaping. Would you guess that the first things I pulled out were stinging nettle?? I apparently didn't know what it looks like but I do now! Moral of the story: wear gloves. Hope everyone had a great week!
