Home and away
Our week was consumed by trying to get a washer and dryer installed in the basement. Our washer broke 2 weeks ago and we were finally supposed to get new appliances Wednesday. They dropped them off but couldn't remove either old appliance because the water turn off was corroded shut and there was no gas shut off for the dryer. Thankfully our neighbor is a saint and his Dad is a plumber so they came in Thursday to replace the water shut offs and the dryer hook up person got a heads up we needed a new shut off so did that for us. I completely missed the washer install and haul away Friday because they were 40 minutes early but thank goodness for remote control over everything these days. I just opened the garage door for them and prayed they were stand up guys. They were in and out of there by the time I got home 2 minutes before my initial window started. Long story but man getting anything done in the house is a pain.
Friday evening we went over to Steph and Tim's to drop the kids off for the night.

Then the "kids" did an escape room and went out to dinner to celebrate Rob and me turning 40. Gulp. I still have a month of 39 left so I'll enjoy that.

After dinner Rob and I headed to Wayzata where my parents got us a hotel for the night! We watched an awful movie, drank a bottle of champagne, slept in, ate an enormous breakfast and stopped for some of the best pastries in the Cities before going home. If you live here and haven't been to Bellecour, go. A cup of coffee and a croissant can't be beat.

We got home to find our kids doing their usual. Marlo being so engaged and present, Kasper so engaged in faraway Nintendo realms.

Rob took the kids to burn off some steam by running a few "errands". Looks like a Dad and kids' fantasy to-do list, doesn't it?

Today we laid very low because Rob and I were not feeling our best. It snowed a ton last night so the kids had fun sledding with the neighbors to get some fresh air. Hope everyone had a great weekend!
