Palm 2022

 We did it! We took a Spring Break trip after 2 years of having COVID mess things up. 

Our bag was 49.0 lbs on the way there and 50.0 lbs on the way back. The limit is 50.0 lbs so I think we were sweating both ways.

We got in around dinner the first night and got settled in. With the 2 hr time difference, the kids were up at 4:30 the first morning! The house we rented had a pool, hot tub, pickle ball/basketball court, putting green, arcade games and tons of toys. It was a blast and we had fun doing little more than playing in the backyard all week. With the exception of a day or two it was in the 90's all week. It was HOT. 

 

About half of the mornings, Rob and I found ourselves at our beloved Bump & Grind trail. It's one of our favorite things to do in Palm Springs.

One morning we took the kids and my parents to a lake close to the house that said there were hiking trails. It took some time to find them but we finally did and it was a nice little hike! The kids were like mountain goats.

 We took the kids to El Paseo for an afternoon to have a Jamba Juice and look at the cool cars.

We killed an escape room. One of the best we've ever done!  

Marlo never stopped making crafts. She specifically opened this bag of chips on the bottom so when they were done they'd make a cool hat.

   

On our last day, Rob and I did one last hike super early in the morning. We saw the last part of the sunrise. We had a little sun time then we had to be out by 2. 

We killed a couple hours before heading to the airport.

   

Our flight ended up being delayed over 2 hours. Not a huge deal normally but it put us back in MN at 2 am. Then there was some weird baggage snafu and the bags weren't unloaded for an hour and a half. Everyone on that flight was exhausted.

   

We got home and into bed around 4:30 am. Most of us were up around 10 am, except someone who had to work. I ended up waking Marlo up at NOON!

 

It was so fun to get away! We had a blast. And the best part is we already know we get to go back to the same house next year.

Fun stuff happened at the new house last week while we were away but this is long enough so I'll have to do another post later in the week. Hope everyone had an awesome weekend!

Spring Break 2020!

We're headed out for Spring Break tomorrow but I wanted to unload the photos from the week so far before we go! 

Marlo stayed home Monday to build her strength back up and while she was home, Rob got her to let him pull her tooth! That thing was looking rough. 

The siding is sloooooollllllyyyyyyyy going up at the house. Also, check out that MUD. It's an absolute mess.

 

Also, we got a TON of deliveries this week. Tile and trim! This is when things get really exciting. I snuck around the house yesterday after work when no one was there. I am always surprised how tidy and organized everything is. 

The tilers even set up a breakroom which I love, including a toaster and microwave.

   

The tiler is ORGANIZED. And an obvious perfectionist. Good qualities for a tile guy/artisan to have.

   

Marlo had a music concert last night that they've been practicing hard for! She wore a mask cuz we have a vacation to go on.  And cuz we made her.

 

Isn't it so fun to see the kids doing fun things like in-person concerts again?? 

 It snowed last night so we got to see the house with snow one last time (BETTER BE) before next winter.

 

We spent a couple hours this morning going over allllllll the tile, picking out layouts and grout.

   

When we come home next week, there will be lots new to see! Have a great Spring Break! Hold onto your coconuts, Palm Springs -- we've got three years of pent-up spring breakin' to do, and I have a feeling we're gonna leave it all out there on the field.  LET'S GOOOOOOOO!!!!!
