Positive

After 2 years, we finally had Covid in the house.

Monday afternoon, the school nurse called and said Marlo had been in twice. The first time she had a stomach ache, the second time she had a fever and punched her ticket straight home. Rob picked her up and gave her a home covid test which came back negative. If you'll remember our week 2 weeks ago, Marlo was sick for almost 7 days with a random virus.

Kasper's soccer game was cancelled again because the fields were too wet so he and Rob went out and threw the frisbee a bit.

While they were out, Marlo just got sicker. Her fever wasn't going down with tylenol as much as I wanted, she said she had a bad stomach ache but the worst thing was her headache. She could barely move her head. So Rob took her to urgent care. She never lays on the beds. That's how you know she feels real crummy.

The Dr tested her for strep (negative), covid and influenza. She seemed to think it was flu with the negative home test and the terrible headache.

Since we were still not sure what was going on, Kasper went to school Tuesday with a mask on. Tuesday afternoon, we got Marlo's results - positive for covid. So we had to tell school and all that. Then it dawned on Rob and I we should test ourselves. Both positive.

I picked Kasper up as soon as school was done. He said he was feeling great. Got home and tested him. Positive.

It really showed how fast this thing can spread if 3/4 people in a family have it but are basically asymptomatic. I wouldn't have tested any of the rest of us if Marlo wasn't so sick. Yada yada yada we all had to stay home all week. Which was great for 3/4 people in the family.

It felt like early covid days again. Thankfully it was nice outside and after Marlo woke up Wednesday morning fever free and feeling fine, we tried to be outside a lot.

They started the retaining walls at the house so thankfully we could go over to have some meetings while being outside.

They also did a ton of painting! SO EXCITING! They finished the trim on all the floors then moved to the walls on the upper level. The cabinetry seems to be mostly done as well.

Nothing new with the exterior but the sunsets at this house are unreal. And all the wildlife!

Yesterday was the most perfect day. We were outside almost the entire day. Bike rides, walks, pop over to the house to see the walls starting to be painted!

Whew! What a week! We all get to go back to school and work tomorrow and thankfully we knocked covid out all at the same time.

Hope everyone had a great weekend! And a Happy Mother's Day!

Kasper had a social weekend and the rest of us had a more laid back time. Rob took Marlo shopping to spend some of her money that's been burning a hole in her pocket.

This week is May already! Where does the time go? We have a busy week and I can't wait to pop by the house and see color on the kitchen cabinets. That'll be a great day.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!
