Kindergarten - check!
Oh man we were busy this week!
Marlo was mostly busy singing Moana. All day every day. In fact, her teacher said the girls in class sing Moana so much (and so badly) that the teachers play the soundtrack to drown them out.

Note, she is actively making that mess you see. She just pulls everything out of the bookcase and strews it about.
Tuesday was the school wide picnic! It was a GORGEOUS night and it was PURE CHAOS. We walked around the school and barely saw Kasper again until it was time to go home. There were a billion kids, a billion parents. They had a bunch of food trucks to get dinner. It was a blast. Poor Marlo had to stay with her parents instead of bombing around with Kappy and his pals.

Each grade got up to do a musical number from music class. Kasper is in there somewhere.

Outfit and scene styling by Marlo. And her hair is awesome.

Thursday was this guys LAST DAY of kindergarten! We made it! The year flew by. Kasper had such a fantastic kindergarten year. He made some really sweet friends that I hope he keeps for the future. He learned quite a bit and got some extra challenges with his reading which was nice. One of the biggest improvements was his ability to pay attention and control his body when he needs to. Kindergartners really do a lot of growing up in those 9 months.

The kids had a wonderful bus driver! Hopefully he has the same route next year!

Marlo had safari day!

I brought my car in Monday morning for an oil change and 2 noises. One of them I had last fall, a grinding upon starting up after sitting awhile, and it didn't make the sound over 2 days at the shop back in November. One of them started about 2-3 weeks ago and was driving me crazy because I couldn't predict when it would make the sound and I couldn't pinpoint where it was coming from. It was a rolling sound coming from somewhere to my left. So I dropped the car off Monday morning and got a loaner. Thankfully. Side note, I have a 2012 Honda CR-V. I got a 2017 CR-V and let me tell you, it's genius of them. Now I want a new car. Anyway, my car wasn't ready until THURSDAY. The good news is it made the start up grind and they were able to get it mostly covered under the warranty. The bad news was after taking apart most of the driver side half of the car the rolling sound was narrowed down to the B Pillar between the front and back door and was a MARBLE that Kasper got at Explorers about 2-3 weeks ago. Sound familiar?? They found a marble and a handful of fruit snacks. We had a long talk about shoving things into the seat belt slot. This is what I paid $250 to remove from my car this week.

Explorers Club doesn't start until this Wednesday so I was home with Kasper on Friday. We spent the whole day together and had a great time. How bad can the day be when you've made cookies before 10:30?

We also went to the playground and for a loooooong walk.

Yesterday was in the 90's and humid. We mostly stayed inside but did get out for a bike ride.

One of them didn't make it all the way home. It wasn't the 3 year old. She made it. And had to use her legs.

Today was not my favorite. Rob left to go golfing early in the morning. I slept in a bit then decided to get up and make breakfast. By 8:30, it was pitch black outside.

By 8:36 we had no power and were running downstairs. There were no tornadoes and we were spared the hail and super high winds but the sky was darker than I've ever seen it before. Completely black. I needed to use a flashlight for about an hour after it moved through!
Rob saw it coming across town. This storm was insane.

Anna and the kids invited us over to play and made us lunch (they kept their power!) which was so awesome. I am thankful to have good friends a mile away. The power was still out for dinner so Rob got some food from the grocery store. Xcel energy said our power was excepted back by 3:15 pm. By 6:15 they said it should be on by WEDNESDAY. Rob and I were scheming where to put our food and what to do with our kids and magically the power came back on and we got on with our evening! The end!
Hope everyone had a great weekend! Let summer vacation begin!
