SUMMER!

We got home from CA and blinked and now it's 2 weeks later. The kids didn't have camps lined up for June thanks to some indecision by me back in January. Rob was able to work from home most of the days but it was a good old fashioned screen party for these kids. Just like when I was younger. 

 

Marlo is really into frisbee at the moment so there's been lots of catch. She's getting pretty good.

 

Got a pool day in with the cousins at Grandma and Grandpa's new pool.

   

Then yesterday we went up to Clearwater to watch the last day of the disc golf tournament that happens up there every summer. It's getting to be quite the production!

   

It was super hot but the kids did great. We did more sitting in the shade than last year but we were able to see lots of our favorite players. And get their autographs.

 

Now tomorrow is the 4th of July already! Whew! Hope everyone had a great (long?) weekend!

CA Pt.1

We got back late last week from a whirlwind trip to California! We went out for Rob's cousin's wedding and stayed for the beach and Disneyland! 

Grandma Sandra got the kids their own luggage since it seems we're growing out of being able to pack the whole family in one suitcase. 

 

We got to the airport in time for our originally scheduled flight but turns out the flight attendants didn't make it because of bad weather out East so we were delayed about 3 hours. We had lunch, Rob worked. We saw the Governor of Minnesota.

Rob surprised the kids with a fun rental car.

 

Since we were so delayed, we ran to the hotel, changed clothes and went right to the rehearsal dinner.

   

Kasper is gaining height on some of his Aunties! 

 

Back with their "cousins". 

We went to a super cool bar for a drink before calling it a night.

   

We were in Pasadena which is a super cute city. We found breakfast at the Popping Yolk Cafe. Highly recommended.

 

Next door was a store made for Marlo.

   

Charged the Tesla before splitting up for a few hours before the wedding. 

 

Rob and I went to play the very first disc golf course set up in the US. In the shadow of NASA's JPL.

Then it was wedding time! The wedding was outside at a friend's house and it was lovely. You can't beat Southern California weather.

 

There were a couple television stars in attendance! Rob and I sat by Jane Kaczmarek who was so warm and enthusiastic. Also from the Midwest so that was a fun connection.

   

We also got to chat with Melora Hardin from The Office. SO AWESOME! To hear the 2 actresses talk about the business was fascinating.

 

Next up... the beach!

School's OUT!

We made it through the school year! First year with a middle schooler and we all survived. BARELY. Of course Kasper was very excited for the last day while Marlo was in mourning. 

Kasper's last day was a field trip to the MOA to go to Nickelodean Universe and Rob was a chaperone. Apparently 6th graders are "really something else." 

 

We eased into summer with a low key weekend. The weather was beautiful, the kids had sleepovers with BFFs and we all got excited for summer.
