End of an era
What the kids do while we eat.

Super fun, RIGHT??
My send off committee!

Sent home with a blanket she peed on. Potty training in Preschool is going real well.

This is what the kids do after I leave and Rob is shutting down the house for the day. Looks safe, right?

Picking Kappy up from daycare to go to his new school open house and bus riding practice.

Meeting his teacher and checking out his new room! He has been nervous about kindergarten and was worried he would spend a lot of time in trouble (???) and this helped immensely. He couldn't stop talking about how his new teacher was SO NICE and from Colombia just like his favorite "maestra" at preschool, and now he has a feel for the room he'll be in and met a couple classmates including one he played basketball with the other weekend at the picnic! All that stuff helps with familiarity and we're thankful for it.

Hide and Seek!

Will she ever grow out of her crib? I hope not.

Ah! More of this game!

Friday was Kasper's graduation from Pre-K! The kids have been working on this ceremony for MONTHS and it showed. It was so awesome. Kasper was beaming through the whole thing.

He had the best teachers.

We had all of our families over for pizza and brownies after the graduation to celebrate the big boy!
Saturday morning we decided to wake up and head to the State Fair! We took a bus from the West metro which of course is one of the best parts for the kids. Not that you can tell from Marlo's face.

We got to the fair before 9 am and it was chilly! We got to work with breakfast juicy lucys, hot coffee and mini doughnuts.

I took Kasper to ride the rides and he gradually warmed up to them culminating in the two of us riding a rollercoaster!

Topped it off with a trip down the Giant Slide! I sort of thought he would refuse to go down but nope! He went on his own mat and beat me down by a long shot. He must be growing up. Also, check me out - completely immobile. I makes me laugh.

Beers before 10 am! The only way to do the fair!

By mid-morning it was getting crowded and Marlo refused to wear shoes.

I read that Saturday set a single day admission record at the fair meaning we went on literally the busiest day the fair has ever seen. 260,000 people. Yep, 4 St. Clouds.

Thankfully the weather was beautiful. It made it a little more bearable but we still left around noon. We tried to go into the horse barn but both kids panicked so we walked right out. Oddly enough, Marlo loved seeing the animals walk right by her. Less scary than seeing them closed in their stalls I guess.

Kasper is plugging his ears. As usual.

She's filthy.

The ride back. AKA the second best part of the fair.

I would be remiss if I didn't mention the discovery of Jacob Wetterling's remains. We found out at the fair and spent the rest of Saturday digesting the news. As something that haunted many Central MN childhoods to some extent (mine and Rob's included), this news was a little disorienting. Still processing it, for sure.
Doughnuts yesterday morning before our walks.

Milk after.

Almost every lazy weekend morning both kids start out watching cartoons. Marlo makes her way into our bed about 2 minutes later. Every time.

Her favorite book, usually asked for by name, "WHEREMYLLAMALLAMAREDPAJAMA"

Typical Target trip

Lunch

I'll share some some fun news for Marlo later in the week. There's a clue below.

What a big week! This week will be even bigger. If you have some positive thoughts for Kasper's first day of kindergarten, send them his way! Hope everyone had a good Labor Day!
