Quarantine: Week 15

Is anyone else having some trouble getting into a summer schedule?? Yikes. Thankfully some half day camps and lessons have opened up around here so the kids will have some things to do in the next couple weeks. 

We did get our first taste of watermelon. 

Marlo has been complaining of stomach pain for basically years if I think back far enough. It's been ramping up lately but I've been thinking it was a digestive issue like her brother has. Nothing has been helping and she's in pain most every day now and "reminding" us to call the Dr. We did a televisit then had to go in to the clinic so the Dr could POKE IN HER HERNIA. Poor thing has a little epigastric hernia which you can actually see in the watermelon photos above her belly button (the tiny dent). It's very small but is likely causing all the symptoms which Marlo is complaining of. We go to Children's hospital next week for more testing. Hopefully it can be fixed quickly and she can be pain free. It was weird being out in public - it's something we never do. 

While we were at the Dr Kasper got to go to the beach with his buddy! 

Kasper had a tae kwon do belt test Friday. I think next stop is black belt?? It's hard to keep up.

Rob and the kids camped out Friday night. It was a beautiful night and it sounds like it went well! Marlo slept until 8:30 the next morning. 

The rest of the weekend was navigating the heat while playing outside. What a crazy summer! Hope everyone had a great weekend! 

Quarantine: Week 14

This was the week the kids got to see some friends again! 

We went to the beach with one of Kasper's friends and his mom. It was HOT the beginning of this week so the beach was a nice place to be. It felt almost like real life. 

Most of the week we just summer breaked! (Well most of us anyway.)  I never thought I'd get a whole summer at home while the kids were young. What a gift.

Saturday was Marlo's half birthday! We don't typically celebrate half birthdays with much gusto around here, but hey, these are 'unprecedented times', to coin a phrase.  And also Marlo just loves celebrating!

Today was Father's Day! Hopefully we celebrated Rob well today! We had leftover doughnuts for breakfast and his favorite dinner. The middle of the day was filled with scooter rides, being bossed around by Marlo and playing around with music machines. 

Argh. Blogger has been completely updated and I barely know how to use it. I think the pictures will be too small but I don't know how to resize them. Anyway, you get the gist.

Quarantine: Week 13

We finished school this week!


These weeks FLEW by. I'm shocked!

We haven't found a good summer schedule yet. We're still hoping to cobble together some lessons or plans to help give the summer some structure.

We went out for dinner tonight! The first time in MONTHS! We went to a neighborhood restaurant where we had to make a reservation and sit out on the patio. It was a beautiful night and it was fun to eat at a restaurant again.

Quarantine: Week 12

It felt like summer this week! School was pretty light so we sort of eased into our summer schedule.

We kept an eye on the news all week and hopefully Minnesota and the rest of the nation will continue some of this momentum to make overdue changes. What a wild time 2020 has been. And it's only just June!

Friday was Marlo's kindergarten graduation. We put all her buddies in the trunk as a special treat.


All her classmates drove around a circle to get a cap, take pictures with their teachers then drive around again and honk. I feel sad for these kindergartners! Hopefully next year they can be in a classroom at least part of the time.
