Palm 2023
Spring Break 2023 is in the books! We flew out to Palm Springs last week and lucked out again with the weather. With the exception of a windy/dusty day, it was perfect and sunny and a mix of hot days and not so hot.

We had some fun this week!

Apparently we're just heads down, powering through over here. I don't think Rob or I have taken a photo in 2 weeks. Winter WILL.NOT.QUIT. The ground is covered in snow and it was 9 degrees this morning. Kids are drowning in homework. Adults are drowning in work and responsibilities. It's obviously that painful stretch between when you think winter is over and sunnier, warmer days are ahead but they just won't get here.
The kids went up to spend the weekend at Grandma's house. They went to see a play! The play got great reviews and they all had a fun weekend.

The biggest news this week was that I turned 43 yesterday!
The week flew by. Marlo had conferences Thursday night and Friday was a no school day.
Yesterday was a fun day with pastries for breakfast, a family escape room (we escaped!) and s sushi dinner. The kids did SO well with both the escape room and dinner. Kasper even tried most of the food we ordered!

We were supposed to get hit by a "historic" storm this week. School was cancelled Wednesday and Thursday. While we got about a foot of snow, I was hoping for more.

This week was Valentine's Day already! Time flying never ceases to amaze me. Rob went to Marlo's class to participate in the Valentine's Day party. He said it was a gong show.
For dinner on Valentine's Day, I made Rob and I a delicious meal and we got the kids McDonalds. For dessert I made some homemade lava cakes. About 3 min after putting them in the oven we lost power for almost 2 hours. Thankfully it came on by bedtime so "we" weren't scared of the dark. Rob took the oppertunity to light up the house with his disc golf discs.
Today was President's Day and there was no school. We met up with Marlo's bestie and her Mom to go skiing! I don't think Marlo had been skiing for 2 years but she rocked it. Her friend is a good skiier and I think that was all it took for Marlo to be brave. It was a lot of fun. Kasper brought along a buddy so they were off doing their own thing all day.
Now we settle in to see how much snow we get this week! We already got an e-mail from school to not be surprised if school plans change for Wednesday and Thursday. Of course they don't get snow days anymore, they can learn online now! I've hear 2 feet thrown around in the next 3 days. I thought it was basically Spring.
Hope everyone had a great weekend!

It was cold this week! But "they" say the cold weather is over for this winter now. We'll just see about that.
Kasper had to resort to drinking coffee to warm up in the morning.
