Marlo - 5 months

Miss Marlo - you are 5 months old today!!



You are growing like a little weed! The picture this month is so YOU. Your smile takes up your whole face and I love it. Also, your dimple makes an appearance! We don't see him as often anymore.



You are a happy, feisty little lady. As when you were brand new, when you're happy, you're really happy but when you're mad, you're MAD. You get good reports from daycare and they always talk about how smiley you are and how much you like to participate. You're old enough now to be included in circle time and lay on your tummy while the other kids sit. Also, apparently you don't miss a thing and are very aware and interested in your surroundings. Kasper is so much like Papa and it seems like you are shaping up to be like me. You don't sleep much at daycare. Maybe a couple 20-30 minute naps but nothing like you used to do. The lack of sleep comes back to bite you in the butt after daycare and before bed. But it also may be the cause of your great sleep at night. You drink 18 ounces of milk at daycare.




You moved from your inclined Rock and Play sleeper to flat on your back, unswaddled, in the Pack and Play. You were having some rough nights of sleep so we made the switch. You did minimal crying as you adjusted to your new digs and have been sleeping like a dream. You sleep downstairs in the guest room which works so we can be a little louder while you're sleeping but on the other hand you seem so far away! You go to bed around 7:30 and wake up between 6-7 am. If you wake up to eat, which is about half of the time, it's usually around 2 am. You barely move all night long and I find you in basically the same position in the morning. When you're at home on the weekends, you take at least one long nap of at least 2 hours then a couple 45 min naps. No idea why you're not used to daycare yet.




You started rolling this month! You went from back to tummy and tummy to back in the same week. These abilities have allowed you to spend some nice time on the floor rolling all over and moving towards toys. You know your legs are going to be involved soon but you're not crawling yet. Kasper is going to be a sad kid when you can get to his toys.




Your favorite person is still your Mama. A close second is big brother. He really manhandles you but you love him. The feeling is mutual as he thinks the world of you. He calls you his pretty sister and vows to always protect you. He would hug and kiss you all day if we let him.




You are in the process of moving into 3-6 month clothes. I wonder if you're going to be a little kid like Kasper. So far, you're even littler than he was! You are in size 2 diapers.




We like to call you: Mugs, Mugsie, Muggie Moo, Muggies, Baby Marlo.




Your hair is something else. I'm waiting for it to fill in a bit because it's pretty awful. You have a rat tail, a comb over and a bald spot in the back. Of course, you're still the prettiest baby I've ever laid eyes on.
