Kid time

Rob started the week revisiting the basement bathroom. Remember that old guy? It's still not finished and in fact the job keeps ballooning into a bigger and bigger problem. One positive? The bagster is super fun, low tech sandbox! As long as you avoid the chunks of concrete.

One of our favorite things to do after work is to play on our bed. Marlo LOVES to be rolled around and tickled. She giggles and giggles and is generally at her silliest.

I tried to find pictures of the kids at the same age to see how alike they look. I'm honestly a little shocked to say they look NOTHING like each other! Isn't that wild?

Marlo is getting way better at standing up on whatever she can find. Under the table is her own personal jungle gym. Just like her big brother when he was little.

Kasper tips his chair over and calls it being under the water. Sometimes he "invites" Marlo. Or rather drags her in by her neck.

Rob headed up north for the weekend which meant it was going to be just me and the ankle biters for the whole weekend. Yesterday morning Kasper watched Cars while Marlo had breakfast and went down for her first nap. We had a fun oatmeal breakfast together and read magazines. Kasper is such a bright kid. After breakfast and after Marlo woke up we headed out for a walk/bike ride! It was a sticky, overcast morning but we had a lot of fun. We did our usual 3 mile lap and Kasper did a great job.

Lunchtime!

Here are some of Marlo's "Um, I think I'm all done eating please!" faces. Subtle, right? She's nothing if not even tempered.

After naps we went back outside to ride bikes and play in the bagster.

I found the afternoon to be the most difficult part of the day. Kasper wanted to be entertained. Marlo needed to be constantly supervised. They were never right next to each other. I don't spend enough time alone with them to know how to fill the day the best way. We ended up in the backyard picking up dog poop then back inside when Kasper got frustrated I wasn't doing exactly what he wanted. Thankfully they eventually managed to play with each other.

Here's a video of the fun

Marlo insists on standing in the tub at all times.

Rob texted that he was heading home last night instead of today. He snuck in while we were all sleeping so it was a fun surprise to see Papa this morning! Kasper was really missing him yesterday so it was an especially fun surprise for him. We got to run some errands today that I wasn't going to tackle on my own. Marlo had a hard time with her naps and wanted to be standing all over the sunroom. She ended up hitting the edge of a table with her cheek so that should be interesting to see tomorrow.

So very different.

Rob had been planning on camping with Kasper tonight for weeks. As the day progressed it was clear that the weather was just not going to cooperate. After weeks of no rain, it rained almost all afternoon. They actually got all packed up and headed out hoping that the storms would blow over. They didn't.

They stopped for dinner before heading home for the night.

The rain won tonight. But they're still camping! In Kasper's room. Making the best of tonight. I hope they sleep well!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!
