Happy Thanksgiving!

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! Ours was medium!

The week was humming along until Wednesday. Marlo's daycare was closed for the holiday so we planned on getting some cooking and decorating done. Instead, we were at urgent care for hours because she said her neck and stomach hurt and she had a little fever. The PA that checked her out said she wouldn't do a rapid strep test because Marlo JUST had strep but the exam indicated that strep was a possibility.

We went home with another antibiotic but she only took it 2 days because her strep culture came back negative! Makes sense because her sore throat lasted for days and then MY sore throat lasted for days. Just a virus!

My parents came down Wednesday night so my Mom could get the turkey started early Thursday morning. Rob and I got up Thursday and ran a Turkey Trot 5K! My first time running since the turkey trot 3 years ago. Rob did great, I did almost the same as 3 years ago and didn't walk once! That was my victory.

We came back home to prep for Thanksgiving as we hosted. About an hour before we planned to eat, Rob took a spill outside and broke his arm and a rib. My Dad took him to the ER and they missed Thanksgiving. Oof.

Sheepy was stowed away in Rob's pocket.

On a very small positive note, Rob has had 3 days to rest and get used to having one functional arm. He gets his hard cast on tomorrow but it hasn't slowed him down much! He even cleaned the leaves in the backyard today and ran errands.

We laid pretty low this weekend after the eventful week. Hopefully next week is better. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving weekend!

Sleepover!

Busy week this week - THE USUAL.

Rob took Kasper to rent skis for the winter! He's going to be taking ski lessons here in the Cities this winter and we will hopefully be making our annual trek to Lutsen. He's pumped!

Flannel Day. Marlo took it to "Axl Rose" levels.

Kappy slept on the floor one night. Sissy made herself right at home before he could establish the mat as his.

Friday night Kasper had his first sleepover! His best friend Simon stayed over. Simon's Dad was hosting a party at his house which Rob went to so I had the boys and Marlo here. We watched movies, played Wii. They were good boys and didn't make a peep when I had them turn the tv off at 10 pm. Marlo was upset to be in her room alone so I let her sleep with me. When Rob got home he snapped this.

Marlo is incapable of sleeping in the correct orientation when she's with me and I got kicked in the ribs all night. But she's so cute and look at her hair.

Up at 6 am! I'm continually thankful Kasper can turn on the tv himself and get snacks.

We went to the pancake breakfast/book fair at Kasper's school yesterday morning then stopped at Target for one-piece PJ's. Kasper loved Simon's and wanted one just like it. We played outside a bit until this little fawn's feet got too cold and she had to come in for hot chocolate.

Wait. Winter?!

It is basically winter here in MN. NOT A FAN.

We had a busy week. I took Lois to the vet for her yearly check up, i.e. what we need to do to keep the trazadone flowing. The vet said Lois looked great for 12 years old and I had to stop her -- turns out L's chart showed the wrong age this whole time, so the vet and I straightened it out and now we all know Lois is almost 14. 14!! The vet was so nice and understanding about our senior dog. Lois is in excellent health and we added an arthritis medicine to help her stay more comfortable since she limps pretty bad. We also got her elevated food bowls to help her eat.

I got a call Thursday afternoon on my way to daycare that Marlo had a fever and was complaining about a sore throat. She was a sad little thing.

She woke up Friday morning and still had a sore throat so I took her in. Another 10 day course of amoxicillin! So much strep throat in our house this fall. I don't love it.

Kasper and Rob had a bike adventure yesterday morning.

Sandra came down and picked the kids up yesterday and took them back to St. Cloud for the night!

Rob and I laid around the house, watched TV, then met up with Steph and Tim for dinner and double escape rooms! We were 2/2! The kids got back this afternoon with lots of energy. They played hard all evening then crashed by 7:45 which might be a new record.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!
