Thanksgiving!

This was Thanksgiving week and it was also the week of our first winter weather headaches!

The kids had school Monday and Tuesday. Marlo has been in a creative zone this week. Even more than usual. Lots of creating by this girl. Even at 7:30 am with her bagel breakfast.

School was cancelled Wednesday because we got about 10" of snow. Crazy because we had no snow before that so we woke up to a lot of white! Thankfully the roads weren't bad by Wednesday afternoon so my parents could come down and help me with the Thanksgiving turkey! We hosted Thanksgiving and had a fantastic meal with family. No one broke their arm this year so that's a win. Marlo wore one of my necklaces for about an hour before she agreed she was pulling on it too much so should probably take it off.

Steph and I did a very small amount of Black Friday shopping but honestly since the sales start as early as Monday the week of Thanksgiving, you can get all of your shopping done before Friday! Marlo made me some juice while I was out. Again with the creating. Very big on writing, cutting, glueing, taping. That label says "Hirs your jus".

Kasper was at a sleepover Friday night so Rob and I took Marlo out for burgers. Then she and Rob played outside. She loves to play in the show. And with perspective.

We were going to go up to St. Cloud Saturday but another storm blew through yesterday and today so we just stayed home. I think we have over a foot of snow out there. We got through the snow days with movies, homework, sledding, photography. Can you guess who took these???

Ed Sullivan

Can you believe Thanksgiving is this week?? Crazy.

Kasper had his 3rd grade music concert this week. The gym was packed and we sat on the side so we didn't get prime views, but if you like to watch 8-9 year olds belt out the oldies it was great! Kasper played Ed Sullivan.

The rest of the week was go go go. Marlo even had to have an unplanned dinner at Culvers.

This weekend we had another gift of a weekend where I could work on jewelry making, Marlo had a play date, Kasper and Rob ran some errands. The kids made breakfast.

Marlo got really into a game where she drew pictures on post-its then hid them around the house.

Slow down

Life is slow right now and we are loving it. Normal weeks and lazy weekends are a treat!

We had a boring week. I can't even remember anything memorable about it except Rob and the kids played a lot of nighttime football with a light-up ball and LED-fingered gloves. They call themselves the "Fiber Optics" and they're apparently quite the team.

Yesterday we went to the pancake breakfast at school which is always a fun time. After the breakfast we go to the book fair where the kids pick out a million books they want. Marlo had a birthday party to go to and after that we did NOTHING. Naps, movies, fires in the fireplace, more night football. I was very productive on the necklace front where I am feverishly preparing for Black Friday and the holiday season.

Rob took the kids out for an adventure where they had a picnic lunch then rolled an old steel wheel down the hill. They managed to find a second wheel with a whitewall tire to also roll down the hill.

Bye fall

Honestly I can't even remember the beginning of this week. Must've been uneventful!

The kids had no school Friday so they went to stay with Grandma Sandra!

Yesterday Marlo got to go to a birthday party of one of her daycare friends. She has been DYING to see them so I know she had a fantastic time. Grandma took both Kasper and Marlo to the party and it sounds like they both enjoyed themselves!

Rob and I went out for a night with other school parents! Kasper has had the best buddies since kindergarten and all the parents also enjoy hanging out. It's fun because the next group of kindergarten siblings have the same teacher and are friends with each other.

Today, Rob took the kids out for a woods adventure.

It's been so cold the ice is starting to form on the lake.

My Mom stopped over to help with Kasper's craft project for the 3rd grade bazaar - tie dye! It was relatively mess free which was surprising.

We're headed into the deep freeze which I'm not excited about. The good news is Rob got the Christmas lights up before a) it got too cold and b) he broke his arm again. A success! Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Happy Halloween!

The kids were so excited for Halloween this week! And it was a nice day! I took the day off and got to go to the school's Halloween parade.

I got the kids a little early so we could have dinner with friends and go trick or treating! The kids loved their costumes.

Yesterday Kasper's soccer team had an end of the season party then we went into Minneapolis for a high school friend's 40th birthday party. WE ARE TURNING 40. Crazy. It was chilly outside but the kids had a ton of fun playing outside.

Today Rob tackled more leaves, Kasper had a play date, I did inside chores and Marlo made a whole suite of pirate accessories out of paper.
