Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes
It was a big week around here for the Williams family! Mostly for the littlest one. Oh - and I read this title in the style of my friend David Bowie.
Rob and I worked all week to get things all ready to assemble Kasper's big boy bed this weekend. Here's a little peek at the woodshop! Don't I look thrilled?
Thursday was Kasper's last day at his daycare. We worked on making cards for his teachers the night before. He's big into drawing circles.
It was sad when I dropped him off and even worse when I picked him up. We handed out his cards to his teachers and they gave him a fun card and a picture of him with them. I was sobbing. He loved them so much and I felt like he had no idea it was his last day which made it even sadder.
He got to hug a couple classmates.
Notice he totally had a ponytail in.
Friday morning my Mom and Dad came down and picked Kasper up to bring him up to St. Cloud for the night. I started organizing some baby clothes while Rob worked until noon. I picked him up and we grabbed a quick lunch before heading home to start on our list of work we wanted to get done this weekend. We mainly wanted to get the kids' shared room ready and a big boy bed built for Kasper so he could start sleeping in it long enough before the baby comes to not feel kicked out of his crib. We worked hard and got a lot done before it was time to go to dinner.
We went downtown for our anniversary dinner - to a place called Vincent, A Restaurant. It was delicious! We got some amazing poutine as an appetizer and Rob got one of the best burgers he's ever had. We headed home after dinner and made our own molten chocolate lava cakes for dessert.
Saturday morning we slept in until 8 for the first time in awhile and had some yummy pumpkin muffins while we finished up the kids' room. Working with what we have, I think it turned out pretty well! I still have some more pictures to hang.
One of my favorite things is the closet! It was a useless closet before with a tiny closet rod the depth of the top shelf. It's an incredibly shallow closet but luckily kid-sized clothing hangers fit. We also added the shelf for folded clothes. Previously this closet just wasn't used.
My parents dropped Kasper off at Steph's house on their way out of town. It was fun to get updates from her throughout the day with what they were doing.
Kasper started drawing faces!
Field trip to a fire station!
More faces!
We finished with the room around lunch time so we decided to go out and run some errands - we're never running errands after 1 pm! It was so freeing! We went out for lunch then made a couple stops before heading to the mall for a couple things. One of those things was coffee and lo and behold there was the newly located Apple store next door! There was a line outside of the store so we wandered over to ask what they were waiting for - of course it was the new iPhone 5S. We asked and it turned out they had the size we wanted for our carrier so we decided to get the new phone!
Here's Rob wanting to remember his old cell phone case.
We waited about a half hour before it was our turn. We talked to the woman at the head of the line and it turned out our timing was just about perfect and that before that afternoon we would've been out of luck. That coupled with the fact that we were toddler-less made us all the more happy with our choice to upgrade spontaneously. Of course we weren't really prepared to upgrade right then so we spent our time in line e-mailing ourselves everything that wasn't included in our last back-ups a couple weeks ago.
We got home and played around on the phones awhile before starting to think about dinner. At 7 pm. We decided to go OUT for pizza and headed to Punch for dinner. We were loving the freedom we had! We were definitely missing the toddler but we knew he was having as much fun as we were. It was good for all of us.
This morning we were up early and on our way over to Steph's by 7:45 to pick them up and take them to breakfast. I used the opportunity to try out the new camera on my phone.
We got home and showed Kasper his new digs. He LOVED it!
Before naptime we decided to take a hike along our favorite trail. Kasper was far more sleepy today than he was the other day so he did a lot of stopping to look at things.
A bug flew in his nose.
It was a sunny day!
We had apples for lunch because everyone was too full from breakfast. Kasper took his nap in his bed and did GREAT!
He took a nice long nap. I was worried he'd wake up, realize he was in a bed and get out but nope!
We spent the rest of the day watching the Vikings win, playing outside and getting ready for the week ahead. Tomorrow may be a tough day at the new daycare. Wish him luck! Kasper went to bed in his big boy bed and is currently sound asleep. Let's see how the rest of the night goes! It might get interesting!
Hope everyone had a great weekend!
