Toledo, The Reunion
Friday was the reunion! We did a bunch of souvenir shopping for most of the afternoon but apparently didn't take many photos.
This is what the streets are like in Toledo. Anything but tennis shoes are ankle breakers.
We swung by San Juan de los Reyes which we all remembered from class. I specifically remembered the shackles on the outside of the building. The weather was so beautiful for the most part. It was just fun to roam around.
We got ready for the reunion and couldn't resist some photos on our terrace. CAN YOU EVEN WITH THIS SUNSET?

The reunion was celebrating 40 years of the Toledo study abroad program. There were people there from the first year! In fact, one of the first students in the program ended up marrying a Spaniard and owns the event center where the party was held. There was a great turnout and we had fun chatting with people who dtudied abroad in the years around us. Some even lived in the dorms with us in Minneapolis!
This is Miguel and Yuki. They worked at the school when we went in 2001 and still do!! A highlight for sure.
We had a provost from the U of M there, a few people from the learning abroad center at the U of M, some important people in Toledo. Our little party was even in the news!
It was such a fun night! They did a fantastic job putting it on. I'm so glad we were all able to make it over for this trip.
