Coyotes

We had an uneventful week. School and work. Kasper got hit in the mouth with a frisbee and had to detach his lips from his braces but that was about ads exciting as it got.

One of the coolest things about this week were the coyotes in our yard! 2 coyotes hung out for a long time! One just laid down while the other roamed around then they'd wrestle for a bit before lying down. They usually just pass on by. I got just a little video of the tail end of wrestling but it was so cute. Maybe they're young.

Isn't that fun??

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Ultimate!

It's crazy to think it's Spring now and there are only 2 months left of school! Spring Ultimate started this week and the kids had their first tournament. It was 70 degrees when the sun was out but they played SO well. Like so well. It was a lot of fun to watch them get better.

Spring Break 2025

We got another great Spring Break in the books! The day before we left, Kasper got his braces on!

He has been waiting a LONG time for these so this was a big day.

We went back to Palm Springs and stayed in the house we were at last year. We just love Palm. We had pretty decent weather but it was a little more windy/dusty than usual. The kids played in the pool every day. This year water guns were a big hit.

Rob and I got out for lots of hikes.

Marlo got her Jamba Juice and drank that whole thing.

We escaped a super fun escape room.

Saw a few roadrunners which delighted us.

We had a great year and can't wait to go back in 2026!

Oops

I have received some feedback that more blog posts would be preferred. The problem is that Rob and I don't really take pictures anymore! I think it's because the kids are older and mostly do their own things now.

Kasper discovered the desk in his room and knocked out 2 LEGO projects.

We had brunch with Grandpa Steve and Grandma Sandra this weekend! Always a fun time.
IMG_5484 You would not believe how much Kasper grows each month. He is basically an adult.

And speaking of, Marlo asked if she could get rid of her bunk bed! That bunk bed had been taken apart and put together like 5 times so it was maybe a little compromised. We got her all set up with a full and completely reorganized her room. She loves it!

Ok! That's all I have! I'll try harder this week.

February

January lasted forever, didn't it? But on the other hand, I can't believe its February already.

High school has entered the chat over here. There is apparently so much to consider for incoming freshman! We've had parent meetings, Kasper has presentations at school. It wasn't like when Rob and I went to high school and there was basically 1 set of classes to take plus a variety of math classes. It's like registering for college. There was an event at the high school last week where we got to talk to his counselor and I think he's set for 9th grade. I hadn't been around the school much but it felt like a mall or maybe the airport. Not like our school which was 100 years old when we matriculated.

We didn't have plans this weekend besides some home decor projects so when Steph invited us to go skiing, we jumped! We haven't had winter yet here so it just hasn't seemed like a natural choice. Sounds like we'll get some real snow this week though. The kids have been going to ski club but Rob and I hadn't been yet this year. It was 40 degrees or something and the snow was all man made but we had such a fun time.

January

I have literally nothing interesting to share. January has flown by but was also a but of a slog. Kasper missed almost a whole week of school with something. He had a fever for days and just felt crappy. I took him in for testing on day 6 since he wasn't getting better (only knew he was covid neg the whole time). He tested negative for all the viruses and strep so the clinician gave him an antibiotic. Next day he felt great. Maybe it was coincidental, sometimes you just take the W.

Other than that, we had some nice sunsets.

And Marlo had an orchestra concert.

The kids started ski club so Marlo is gone Thursday evenings and Kasper Fridays. They love it so that's fun for them. Other than that, I can't believe it's almost February!

Hope everyone had a nice month!

45

Today is Rob's birthday! I don't have any birthday questions for him, though.

Let's see, it's been basically the whole holiday season since I posted. It was a rough one for me. We had a little family birthday party for the kids on the 15th.

Then the next day I came down with a virus and am still recovering from it. I was very sick that first week with a high fever and chills. I went to the Dr a couple times and got stronger and stronger cough suppressants. On Christmas Eve morning, I begged for a chest x-ray and found out I had pneumonia. I got antibiotics but they didn't do anything because it was viral so it just took lots of time to recover. It was so hard being so sick for the absolute busiest time of the year but we managed and I think the kids had a great Christmas and great birthdays. Rob really carried a large load for a long time so give it up to him for making most of the magic happen.

Somehow no one else got sick. The kids filled their days with Legos and other things to build. And screens.

For Rob's birthday, a friend flew in from PA and surprised him with a guys weekend up in St. Cloud! He had no idea! It sounds like they had a blast.

And now it's back to the real world! The kids have one more day off tomorrow but after that, it'll be nice to get back into a routine where some of us don't sleep until noon (cough, teens).

Hope everyone had a great holiday!
