Calm before a storm
Monday. Marlo woke up as I was getting into the shower. She crawled into our bed and FELL BACK ASLEEP. Sweet thing.

Tuesday was the start of swimming lessons! Marlo and I went home after work and school to let the dog out and eat dinner. On the way to the pool we talked about how she was going to be such a big girl and get right into the water and participate. We got in the building and she was very unsure.

It didn't help that there were big kids swimming fast laps in the pool making her nervous. Her teacher called the kids names and only one girl actually went over. This is Marlo not hanging onto me but for sure NOT going to her teacher back there.

Still no.

Hahahahaha!

She cried for about 30 seconds then had basically the best time and can't wait to go back.

Rob took Kasper to tae kwon do after school then came to the pool as our class was getting out for Kasper's own lessons! I wanted to stay and watch but Marlo was delirious and wouldn't stop running on the pool deck. Apparently he also had the best time ever and can't wait to go back to swimming. He and Rob stopped for Smashburger after swimming. Poor guy was so tired he didn't even finish his burger.

Keeping the turkeys away.

Apparently you're supposed to squirt them with a water gun or open umbrellas in their faces to assert dominance. We want to dissuade them from coming into our yard because, quite honestly, they're terrifying.

Earning her keep.

Check out this awesome hibiscus!!

They took all summer to bloom then they're gone in a day.
Tae kwon do moved to a new, larger, beautiful light filled space. I took K Thursday and had the best time sitting. It doesn't hurt that it's next to a coffee shop so Kasper and I treated ourselves after class. We deserved it.

On Friday, Marlo's school was closed at 1 so I picked her up and we had a shopping afternoon. With more coffee.

Her daycare had a big fiesta planned for that afternoon that we were planning on going to until the second we were supposed to leave and the long drive plus the raindrops on my windshield made me change my mind. I felt bad to miss it but it would've been 40+ minutes away for a possible rainout. Instead we picked Kasper up super early and they played like angels all night.
Yesterday Rob went on a long bike ride in the morning so the kids and I stayed in our pjs until noon. We went over to Jack and Eva's house for some food, fun and fellowship since the dads were biking together. The weather was weird so we had no problem watching movies and eating popcorn.
This morning was BEAUTIFUL and nice and cool. Rob went out and got us doughnuts from a new shop then we finally got out and moved a bit.

Fell into the grass

Road rash

We found a salamander! He seemed a little dry so we put him into some soft mud by a stream.

A stop at Target for groceries and Legos and Kasper was set for the rest of the day.

We had dinner with Grandpa and Carol before getting ready to face a new week.
Starting tomorrow it's going to look a whole lot different in here!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!
