January!
It takes longer to get back into the swing of things the older we get. Yikes. This week was mostly survival and getting back on schedule. With Papa's birthday thrown in there. And car trouble.
The morning of Rob's birthday. Kasper began, unsolicited, "You know what? You look good!" (Rob had shaved). Then both kids started telling Rob their favorite things about him. Impossibly cute. In the end, Kasper said "You know what I like best about you Papa? Just you." Melt your heart!

Rob tries to go for a bike ride every year on his birthday. This year he had to settle for running to the repair shop where his car was being fixed because the rear suspension went out (coughcoughmoneypitcough). It was cold.

Yesterday Kasper helped me do lots of baking while Rob and Marlo ran some errands. We made Grandma Viv's english muffin bread but it didn't turn out as well as hers.

Over nap time Kasper and Rob met some friends for some ice fishing.

We were quizzing Marlo on her letters (she knows O, M and R. 3/5 of her name, I guess. Kasper could spell his name at this age) and Kasper wanted to see if he could write the alphabet. He's such a cool kid.

Today Kasper and Rob went skiing! It was Kasper's first time trying downhill skiing and he LOVED it!

Hope everyone enjoyed the first week of 2017, and that the next ones are just as good!
